- 108
How the conversion is calculated
This calculator multiplies the amount by the exchange rate you enter. Exchange rates fluctuate constantly, so check the current rate with your bank or provider before making a transaction.
converted amount = amount × exchange rate
It's useful for budgeting a trip abroad, comparing the price of a product bought in another currency, or making a quick estimate before an international transfer without relying on an app connected to the internet.
Worked example
If you convert 100 with an exchange rate of 1.08, the result is 100 × 1.08 = 108. To convert the other way, use the reciprocal rate: 1 ÷ 1.08 ≈ 0.9259.
Frequently asked questions
- Where does this calculator get its exchange rate?
- It doesn't use real-time data: you enter the exchange rate yourself, for example the one your bank or a trusted financial source gives you, and the calculator does the conversion.
- Why doesn't the exchange rate update automatically?
- To keep the tool simple, free, and free of external dependencies. You can update the rate manually whenever you need to.
- Can I convert the other way around?
- Yes, enter the reciprocal of the exchange rate (1 ÷ rate) to convert in the opposite direction.
- Why is my bank's exchange rate different from what I see online?
- Banks and exchange offices typically add a margin on top of the interbank exchange rate (the one shown on online comparison sites), which covers their service fee.
- Does this work for any currency pair, including crypto?
- Yes, it works for any pair as long as you enter the correct exchange rate between them, whether traditional currencies or cryptocurrencies.
