How it's calculated
First the tip is added to the bill total, then the result is divided by the number of people.
total with tip = total × (1 + tip ÷ 100)
Worked example
An 80 € bill between 4 people with a 10% tip: total with tip = 80 × 1.10 = 88 €. Each person pays 88 ÷ 4 = 22 €.
