How it's calculated
First the tip is added to the bill total, then the result is divided by the number of people.
total with tip = total × (1 + tip ÷ 100)
It is the quickest way to settle a group dinner or lunch: enter the bill total, the number of people and, if you like, the tip percentage. The calculator returns the total with tip and what each person owes.

When splitting between several people the result may have more than two decimals, which in practice is rounded to the cent; it is best if someone absorbs that small difference. If you paid several expenses up front and want to know who owes whom, use the expense splitter.
Worked example
An 80 € bill between 4 people with a 10% tip: total with tip = 80 × 1.10 = 88 €. Each person pays 88 ÷ 4 = 22 €.
