Phone QR code generator
Enter a phone number to generate a QR code that prepares a call when scanned.
How the phone QR code works
The QR code encodes a 'tel:' link with the number you enter.
When scanned with a phone, it opens the calling app with the number already dialed, ready to call.
Useful on customer service signs, commercial vehicles, or business cards, where scanning is faster than copying a number by hand.
Also used on real estate signs ('for sale' or 'for rent'), technical service vans with printed decals, or reception desks where a customer prefers to call directly instead of filling out a form.
Worked example
Number '+34611223344': the QR opens the calling app with that number already dialed. On a 'for sale' sign, an interested buyer scans the QR from the street and calls without having to type the number.
Frequently asked questions
- Does it make the call automatically?
- No, the person has to press the call button; the QR only prepares the number.
- Should I include the country code?
- It's recommended (for example +34) so the call works from any country.
- Can I include an extension?
- The 'tel:' standard doesn't reliably support extensions on all phones; it's better to list it as text next to the QR instead.
- Does this work the same on a computer as on a phone?
- On computers without telephony, it usually opens a video call or VoIP app if one is configured; on phones, it opens the calling app directly.
