How the countdown timer works
Enter the minutes and seconds for the countdown and press 'Start'. The remaining time is calculated using the system clock, so it stays in sync even if you switch tabs.
When it reaches zero, the tool plays a sound alert and shows the time in a different color so it doesn't go unnoticed.
Unlike the fixed-duration timers (5, 10, or 30 minutes), this one lets you set any combination of hours, minutes, and seconds, making it the right choice for recipes with exact times, exam time limits, timed presentations, or anything that doesn't fit a standard duration.
Worked example
If you set 3 minutes and 30 seconds and start the timer, the alert will sound exactly 210 seconds later. For a recipe that calls for 'bake for 45 minutes,' you can enter 45 minutes and 0 seconds directly with no conversion needed.
