How Excel to PDF works
Each sheet of the Excel file becomes a table in the PDF, with the first row as a header, one page per sheet, in landscape orientation to make better use of the width.
Formulas are not preserved (the last calculated value is used instead), nor are charts, cell formatting or colors; the result is a plain data table.
Worked example
A 'sales.xlsx' file with two sheets ('January' and 'February') produces a 2-page PDF, one table per sheet with the same data.
Frequently asked questions
- Are formulas preserved?
- No, each cell's last calculated value is shown, not the formula itself.
- What about charts or cell colors?
- They're not included; the resulting PDF is a plain data table, without charts or visual styles.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No, conversion happens entirely in your browser.
