How PDF to Word works
All text from every PDF page is extracted and placed into a new Word document, keeping the page breaks.
This only works well on PDFs with real, selectable text: scanned PDFs (images of pages) produce no text, since this tool doesn't include optical character recognition (OCR). The original design, images and complex tables are not preserved.
Worked example
A 3-page text PDF produces a 'file.docx' document with the same text spread across 3 pages, without the original layout.

- Does it work with scanned PDFs?
- No, this tool extracts real text from the PDF; scanned PDFs (which are images) would need OCR, which isn't available here.
- Are tables and images preserved?
- Simple tables are approximated by grouping text into rows and columns, but exact reconstruction isn't guaranteed; images are not included.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No, extraction happens entirely in your browser.
